Home Design Trends in 2022

With the start of a fresh year comes new home design trends expected to be popular. A new year is the chance to start a project you've been dreaming up and re-vitalize your home space.

Today, we are sharing a few of our predictions for 2022 design trends you will be seeing throughout 2022.

1. Statement Wallpaper

Wallpaper is back and it is here to stay! A trend we saw begin in 2021 that will surely stick around in 2022. Adding wallpaper to any room in your home elevates the design and makes the space unique to you. Wallpaper has advanced over the years and is easy for anyone to learn to apply!

A few of our favorite rooms to add wallpaper are to powder bathrooms, formal dining rooms, bedrooms, and laundry rooms. Check out these websites for colorful statement wallpaper options:

2. Colorful Kitchen Cabinets

All white kitchens were a major trend over the past few years. While many home owners still choose this look, in 2022 we expect to see more color being incorporated into kitchens. Homeowners can incorporate color into their main kitchen cabinets or by choosing a pop of color for their island. The most popular colors are various shades of blue, black, and green.

3. Board and Batten Accent Walls

Board and Batten was another trend we saw pick up in 2021 that is here to stay in 2022. This is a great way to add interest and character to any room in your house. Board and Batten accent walls can be placed on almost any wall in your home. From the wall behind your bed frame to the wall leading up your staircase. There are endless possibilites with this design trend.

4. Bold Paint in Rooms

Overall, incorporating color into your home is a huge trend expected for 2022. The previous years focused very much on neutrals and soft colors. 2022 is the year of bringing back color! A great way to do this is by painting a room in your home all one statement color. For example, paint your home office a deep earthy toned green or even try a dark blue.

5. Double Kitchen Islands

Why have one kitchen island when you can have two? If your home allows for it, adding a second kitchen island to your space can open up a whole new area for entertaining and gatherings. This trend provides extra counter space, storage space and is overall a really unique design element to bring into your home.
